Naples Luxury Cruises

Home ports

Which port, for which ship, and how long the drive is

Southwest Florida has no cruise port of its own. It has four within a morning's drive. Each has a different mix of luxury sailings. Kathryn has driven to all of them from Fort Myers and Naples.

A cruise ship at the Port Tampa Bay terminal

Port Tampa Bay

About two and a half hours from Naples and two hours from Fort Myers, straight up I-75 to I-4

Tampa is the closest cruise port to Naples by road, about two and a half hours up I-75. Celebrity's The Retreat sails from here in winter.

A cruise ship berthed at PortMiami

PortMiami

About two hours from Naples on I-75 east, then the Dolphin Expressway into the port

Miami has the most luxury sailings of any Florida port. MSC Yacht Club, Norwegian's Haven, Virgin's RockStar Quarters, Regent, Seabourn, Oceania and Explora all sail from here.

Cruise ships at Port Everglades

Port Everglades

About two hours from Naples on I-75 east to I-595, straight into the port

Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale is the winter home of Celebrity's Edge-class ships and The Retreat, and of Silversea. It is about two hours from Naples, the same drive as Miami but with an easier port entrance..

A cruise ship at the Port Canaveral terminal

Port Canaveral

About three and a half hours from Naples on I-75 north to I-4, then east on the Beachline

Port Canaveral on the east coast has MSC Yacht Club and Norwegian's Haven, plus Disney's concierge suites. It is the longest drive from Naples, about three and a half hours, so it makes sense when the ship or the itinerary is the reason..
