Kathryn has stayed here

MSC Yacht Club is a keycard-only area at the front and top of most MSC ships. It has its own restaurant, lounge, pool deck and butlers. It sails from Miami and Port Canaveral year round. Kathryn has stayed in it herself and knows it better than any other suite programme.

What it actually is

  • A private section of the ship. You use a keycard to enter. Inside are the suites, a restaurant, a lounge with a bar, and a sundeck with a pool and hot tubs.
  • A butler is assigned to your suite. A concierge desk sits in the lounge. Drinks in the Yacht Club areas are included.
  • You can still use the whole ship. The rest of the ship cannot come into your area.
  • Suite types run from a small Interior Yacht Club cabin up to the Owner's Suite and the Royal Suite. The Deluxe Suite is the one most people book.

Where it sails from, near you

MSC sails from Miami and Port Canaveral on ships that carry the Yacht Club, including MSC Seascape, MSC Seashore, MSC World America and MSC Meraviglia. Sailings change by season, so check the ship, not just the line.

Port pages: Miami, Port Everglades, Port Canaveral, Tampa.

Who it fits

  • Couples who want a quiet pool and a table that is always theirs, on a big lively ship.
  • Families who want the kids' clubs and water slides nearby but a calm suite to come back to.
  • First-time suite cruisers. The price sits well under the all-suite lines.

Who should look elsewhere

  • Travellers who want a small ship. MSC ships carry four to six thousand guests.
  • Anyone who expects fine-dining standards on every menu. The Yacht Club restaurant is good. The main ship is a mass-market ship.
