Kathryn has stayed here
The Haven is Norwegian's private suite complex. It has a courtyard pool, a restaurant, a lounge and butlers. It sails from Miami and Port Canaveral on the newer ships. Kathryn has stayed in the Haven herself.

What it actually is
- A keycard-only complex, usually at the top of the ship, with its own pool courtyard, restaurant, bar and sundeck.
- A butler and a concierge look after Haven guests. Priority embarkation, tender and disembarkation come with it.
- The rest of Norwegian is freestyle. No fixed dining times. Lots of speciality restaurants that cost extra.
- Haven suite types range from a two-bedroom family villa to the Deluxe Owner's Suite. Some ships also sell Haven-access cabins outside the complex.
Where it sails from, near you
Norwegian sails from Miami and Port Canaveral. The Haven complex is best on the Prima-class and Breakaway-Plus-class ships. Older ships have a smaller Haven.
Port pages: Miami, Port Everglades, Port Canaveral, Tampa.
Who it fits
- Families who want a two-bedroom suite and a pool that is not crowded.
- Groups who want to eat when they like and in different restaurants every night.
- Travellers who like a big, busy ship with a quiet home base.
Who should look elsewhere
- Anyone who dislikes paying extra for speciality dining. Norwegian charges for most of it.
- Couples who want a formal, quiet ship all round.
