Holland America Line · Carnival Corporation · Resort ships with a suite class
Holland America is the quiet, music-and-food line for travellers who want longer itineraries and a slower ship. Its top tier is the Pinnacle Suite and the Neptune Suites, which share the Neptune Lounge and a concierge. Club Orange adds a private restaurant. The line sails Caribbean seasons from Port Everglades. Kathryn has not sailed Holland America and says so.

From Florida
Holland America bases two or three ships at Port Everglades from autumn to spring. Southern and Eastern Caribbean itineraries of ten days and longer are its Florida specialty. Half Moon Cay, its private island, is on most of them.

Calm. Live music every night in several venues, a culinary centre with cooking demonstrations, a big library. The pool deck is quiet by afternoon.

Who it fits
- Travellers who want a ten or fourteen-day Caribbean itinerary from Fort Lauderdale.
- Music lovers. The Music Walk venues are the best on any mid-size ship.
- Retirees who want a suite tier without a big-ship crowd.
Who should look elsewhere
- Families with children. The ships have almost none on board.
- Anyone who wants a private pool deck. Holland America suites do not have one.
