Windstar runs six small ships of under four hundred guests, three of them motor-sailing yachts with real sails. The three Star-class ships are all-suite, and the Owner's Suites are the top on all six. Windstar sails Caribbean seasons from Miami and San Juan. Kathryn has not sailed Windstar and says so.

Star-class all-suite ships and Owner's Suites
- Star Pride, Star Breeze and Star Legend are all-suite ships. Every cabin is a suite with a walk-in closet.
- Owner's Suites on all six ships have a separate living room and a larger balcony where the ship has balconies.
- The sailing yachts Wind Surf, Wind Star and Wind Spirit have mostly ocean-view cabins and a few suites, not balconies.
- There is no butler and no private area. The whole ship carries fewer guests than a Yacht Club.

From Florida
Windstar sails Caribbean itineraries from Miami and San Juan in winter, and from Colón or Panama for Canal transits. Summer takes the fleet to Europe and Alaska.
